Alev Özas

Artist Alev Özas was born in Istanbul in 1977. Her devotion to art has always been at the forefront, even during her primary and secondary school education.

She completed her high school education in Applied Arts Anatolian High School Textile Department. She took an interest in performing arts in her high school education and after her education, she started at the Theater Department at the Private Istanbul Fine Arts Academy. Along with her theater education, which lasted for 2 years, she was also making charcoal sketches. In 1998, she decided to switch from collective art theater to individual art painting and applied for the aptitude tests. In the same year, she got in to the Arts Department of Marmara University.

She graduated from Marmara University, Atatürk Education Faculty, Fine Arts Department in 2002. While in Prof. Dr. Ramiz AYDIN's workshop, she focused on studies on color, harmony and tachism. After graduating in 2002, she worked as a mural artist for interior spaces in a company called Bukalemun Design. Simultaneously, she designed and applied stage decorations in several theater plays. After these studies, which lasted for 2 years, she worked as an arts teacher at a primary school for a year.

By 2005, she adopted the abstract expressive figurative style as her style. In the same year, she started to work as a chief assistant in Prof. Dr. Devrim ERBİL's private workshop and continued this duty for 8 years. After she had a child, she opened her own workshop and started to paint the expressive understanding she experienced on the Istanbul landscape. She portrayed Istanbul, a great metropolis, in different colors and harmonies, with an emotional and formal understanding that gives the impression of every hour of the day. In short, color plays a leading role in her paintings.

Artist Alev Özas participated in more than eighty exhibitions between 2002-2024. Having held 10 personal exhibitions, the artist has participated in various group exhibitions. The artist lives and works in Istanbul.
